I have always wanted to be a teacher. The influence of my parents is what sparked my desire to teach. My father has taught and coached at both the middle and high school levels, and currently works as an assistant principal. During my childhood, my mom worked as a substitute teacher, but she was recently hired as a resource teacher. Thanks to my parents, I have always admired the profession.
My student teaching experience was wonderful! I was blessed to be paired with amazing mentor teachers that taught me so much and gave me invaluable advice. Of course some days were a challenge, but the experience as a whole was incredibly rewarding. The children put a smile on my face every day and it was so gratifying to watch their growth over the course of a semester. There were also times that I was pushed outside of my comfort zone, but I am most thankful for those experiences because I learned from them and grew as a teacher. I am proud to say that my confidence has doubled since I started student teaching! Most of all, my student teaching experience reaffirmed that I belong in the classroom.
I am currently seeking a full time teaching position in early childhood through sixth grade. However, teaching is much more than a job to me. My commitment as a teacher means that I will strive to meet every student’s needs. I believe your campus will benefit as a result of my creativity, fresh ideas, aptitude for technology, team spirit, and enthusiasm.
